Carney, Sandoe & Associates, an education recruitment firm, is currently seeking a Middle School French Teacher for an immediate start at an all girls' school in Bethesda, MD.

French Teacher Responsibilities:

• Teach several French courses at various proficiency levels for middle school students.
• Teach French language skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing through a variety of instructional methods.
• Create opportunities for students to practice conversational French and improve pronunciation and comprehension.
• Teaching students about French culture, which may include festivals, traditional food, and dress, and social conventions.
• Organizing fun events where students can showcase their French language skills.
• Communicate with parents regarding student progress and behavior.
• Participate in regular professional development activities to stay current with best practices and innovation in language education.
• Assist with extracurricular activities and school community activities.
• Serve as an advisor to students, providing guidance and support to promote academic progress and student success.

French Teacher Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in French, Linguistics, Education, or related required. Master's degree preferred.
• Proven written and verbal proficiency in French.
• 1-3 years of previous teaching experience.
• No teaching license or credential is required.
• Strong interpersonal as well as written and verbal communication skills.
• Organized, dependable, and eager to contribute to the school community.

Additional Desired Qualities:

• Previous independent school experience preferred, but not required.
• Previous athletic coaching experience preferred, but not required.
